ABOUT MAEW

MAEW was born from a deep connection with the Tamra Maew, an ancient Siamese manuscript that honors cats as sacred beings and symbols of prosperity. This ancestral text not only inspired our name, but also the philosophy that guides each of our pieces: a tribute to spirit, nature, and everyday rituals.

At MAEW, ceramics are a form of offering. Each object is created with intention, honoring the rhythms of the earth and traditional techniques.

We celebrate small daily acts as rituals, transforming the everyday into something sacred. We do not see our objects merely as utilitarian, but as vessels of energy, memory, and ritual. Each piece holds not only a thoughtful aesthetic, but also a deeper purpose: to be part of the moments that reconnect us with who we are.

Our forms blend geometry, organic textures, and spirituality. We create with respect for the ancestral, but with a contemporary perspective.

ABOUT ME

I'm Antonella, originally from Argentina, and for the past ten years, I've called Barcelona home.
I've been working with ceramics for seven years, but my connection to art and nature has been with me for as long as I can remember.
Even as a child, I felt the need to turn the everyday into something meaningful — I discovered that in simple gestures, there is a sacred language.

That space is where MAEW was born — as a way to honor the beauty of small things, the geometry of the universe, and the cycles that sustain us.

I’m deeply inspired by nature: its ever-changing colors, imperfect textures, the slow rhythm of natural processes, as well as the flora, fauna, and celestial bodies that remind me we’re part of something greater.
I find beauty in the everyday, in the quiet rituals and the objects that hold and accompany our routines.
In ceramics, I fell in love with the process — the wheel as a dance, technique as language, and practice as meditation.
From design, I’m drawn to minimalism, simplicity, clean lines, and subtle angles — where geometry and organic form meet.
And from Barcelona, I’m inspired by its light, its balance of modernism and tradition, and its Mediterranean soul — where craft, design, and life coexist.

Each piece I create is an attempt to translate that connection into something tangible — an object that embraces, accompanies, and awakens.
For me, ceramics is a way of listening, remembering, and being present.
Through MAEW, I share that journey.
